Below are some tips & tricks to help vendors prepare for working an event at Abella!

Arrival & Departure

  • Arrival & Departure: Our doors open at 10am. Bar service last call is 30 minutes prior to the end of the event. All vendors must leave the property 30 minutes after event rental ends.

  • Parking: Follow the main driveway past the patio and turn right on the first road to pull into the vendor lot on the north side of the reception hall.

  • Loading: Everything must be loaded in and out through the kitchen door. Do not attempt to load using any other door. Please see the property map for reference.

Catering

  • Trash: Caterers are responsible for taking out their trash to the dumpsters in the main parking lot. Do not dispose of liquids in the trash. Trash should never be taken out through the main doors and across the patio as it stains the patio and this is where guests are congregating. It must go out through the prep kitchen doors. We have a separate dumpster for recycling so please make sure to separate your trash.

  • Refrigeration: Abella does not have a walk in fridge or freezer, however a standard residential fridge and freezer are provided in our prep kitchen.

  • Clean up: The kitchen area must be wiped down, mopped and rugs vacuumed. Cleaning supplies will be provided.

  • Ice: If you have ice left over at the end of the night, please take it with you or dump it over the white fence in the vendor parking lot. Ice cannot be dumped in landscaping, on the gravel, or in the sink. Just ask and we will show you! Abella does not have a walk in fridge or freezer, however a standard residential fridge and freezer are provided in our prep kitchen. Ice must be stored in coolers and cannot leak onto the ground.

  • Sink: No food or catering liquid can go down the prep kitchen sink.

  • Check Out: Please make sure that you check in with our Venue Manager prior to leaving.

  • Compliance: Vendors will cooperate and assist Abella in upholding Minnesota State Laws and the policies of the venue such as no outside food or beverage, no underage drinking, etc.

DJ

  • Reception Equipment: Abella does not have a built in sounds system or microphone. All speakers, mics, projectors, and screens needed will need to be brought in.

  • Ceremony Equipment: There is no power in our outdoor ceremony space. We provide 2 battery operated speakers with microphones, if needed.

  • Tape: Tape cannot be used to adhere cords to the ground.

  • Walls: No equipment can be leaned against the walls.

  • Outdoor Music: Due to permit restrictions, no amplified music is allowed outdoors once the ceremony is over.

  • WiFi: Make sure all music is pre-downloaded to the DJ’s computer as there is only WiFi in the farmhouse.

  • Echo: The tall ceilings in the French Country Hall can cause the room to echo. We have sound paneling that helps alleviate the echo. We suggest doing a soundcheck to make sure your speakers are properly placed.

Floral & Decor

  • Clean Up: Before you leave, all flower debris must be cleaned up.

  • Assembly: Florals may not be arranged in the prep kitchen.

  • Candles: Candles are welcome, as long as the flame is enclosed by a glass vase one inch taller than the flame and the container catches the wax.

  • Decor Rules: When leaning anything against the walls, please place bubble wrap behind to prevent scraping the walls. Nothing can be used that will damage the walls. Nails, screws, tape, command strips, flower petals, glitter, confetti, fireworks, and rice are not allowed. Large decor items need to be approved.

  • Set Up: Please remember to bring your own ladder, broom, scissors, and lighters. Do not move or stand on any furniture. Please contact the venue manager for assistance.
